Remindy is a macOS app designed to stay lightweight, local-first, and private by default.
Overview
This Privacy Policy explains what information Remindy may process, how that information is used, and what choices you have when using Remindy, the official website, and related support channels.
Information We Collect
We do not collect reminder content through analytics, crash reporting, or the website.
Inside the app, reminder data and reminder text you create are designed to stay on your Mac unless a feature clearly says otherwise.
We may process the following limited categories of information:
- reminder data and settings stored locally on your device so the app can function;
- basic purchase, entitlement, or transaction status information provided by Apple if you obtain Remindy through the App Store;
- limited anonymous app analytics, diagnostics, crash logs, and error reports used to understand usage, improve reliability, and fix bugs;
- support messages and the information you choose to include when you contact us; and
- limited website usage information, such as browser type, pages visited, referral sources, or similar technical data used to operate and improve the website.
Reminder content is not collected through analytics or crash reporting.
Reminder Data and Natural Language Input
Remindy is built so you can create reminders quickly without needing an account or cloud sync.
Reminder content is generally stored locally on your Mac.
When you type a reminder, the parsing and recognition of natural language reminder input are designed to happen locally inside the app. Your typed reminder text is not sent to a remote server for parsing or reminder creation.
Analytics and Crash Reports
Remindy may collect limited anonymous analytics and crash diagnostics to understand usage, improve reliability, and fix bugs. This may include app version, macOS version, feature usage events, crash logs, and error information.
Reminder content is not collected through analytics or crash reporting.
App Permissions
Remindy may request permission to send macOS notifications so it can deliver reminder alerts you ask it to send.
Notification content is generated locally on your device from the reminders you create.
If a future version of Remindy introduces additional system permissions, this Privacy Policy will be updated before or when those changes are released.
How We Use Information
We use limited information only to:
- provide reminder functionality inside the app;
- store your reminders and app settings locally on your device;
- enable or verify purchases, licenses, or entitlements when applicable;
- maintain app functionality;
- diagnose bugs, crashes, and support issues;
- respond to customer support requests; and
- operate, secure, and improve the website.
We do not sell your personal information.
We do not use reminder content for advertising.
Data Storage
Remindy is designed to work primarily on-device.
Reminder data and app settings are generally stored locally on your Mac unless a specific feature clearly states otherwise.
If you obtain Remindy through the App Store, purchase processing, billing infrastructure, and entitlement records may be handled by Apple.
Support emails and support attachments are stored in the systems used to receive and manage those support messages.
Third-Party Services
Remindy may rely on third-party services such as:
- Apple, for app distribution, payment processing, purchase restoration, and entitlement handling when applicable;
- analytics and crash reporting providers used to improve app reliability and understand aggregate usage;
- website hosting, analytics, or infrastructure providers used to run the official site; and
- email providers used when you contact support.
Your use of those services may also be subject to those providers’ own terms and privacy practices.
Data Retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary to:
- provide support;
- maintain required business and technical records;
- comply with legal obligations; and
- resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.
If support information is no longer needed, we will delete it within a reasonable period unless we are legally required to keep it.
Children’s Privacy
Remindy is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
International Users
If you use Remindy outside your home country or region, limited information related to support, Apple purchase infrastructure, website delivery, or other essential service providers may be processed in the countries where those providers operate.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will post the updated version on this page and update the “Last updated” date above.
